Digital Britain Review

The first question taken in yesterday's Question Time in the Lords was from Lord Dubs who asked - "what consultations [the Government has] had on the Digital Britain Review; and when the interim report of that review will be published."

Two main issues arose in the supplementaries - the impact of the switch from analog to digital for TV broadcasting; and access to broadband internet. On the latter issue there are serious concerns that a significant have/have not divide is growing in its significance for individuals.

The eight minutes of question and supplementaries can be viewed on the archive at http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Home.aspx and the text in the Lords Hansard for 22nd January (http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld/lords_hansard_by_date.htm)
The announcement and details of the Review can be found in a press release at http://www.culture.gov.uk/reference_library/media_releases/5548.aspx and there is a useful Times article at http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/article4965272.ece
